Question

A can harvest a field in 18 days. B can do the same work in 11 days. How much did A get if the farmer pays them a total amount of Rs. 7200 for a work that they together completed in 6 days?

A

Rs. 2400.

B

Rs. 2500.

C

Rs. 2300.

D

Rs. 2700.

Soln.
Ans: a

Work done by A in 1 day = $1/18$. So the work in 6 days = 6 × $1/18$. His share is Rs. 6 × $1/18$ × 7200 = Rs. 2400.
